Totem-pole output cable length
Question
I would like to extend the TRD-***-RZ cable by about 20m.
Is it possible?

– Under normal usage conditions, it can be extended up to about 30m.
– Our totem-pole output has low output impedance, so it is relatively immune to external noise.
– However, this does not mean that it is not affected by noise.
– The impact of noise will vary depending on the location of the installation, depending on the type, arrangement, and wiring condition of nearby electronic devices.
– The effect of electrical noise is mainly erroneous counting on the counter side.
– The longer the cable, the greater the influence of noise and the disturbance of the output waveform.
– Depending on the installation environment, it cannot be said that operation will be affected at a distance of more than a certain number of meters.
– To prevent erroneous counting, please keep the cable as short as possible, separate the wiring from the power line, and keep it away from power equipment.
– Also, please consider using Line Driver output, which is less susceptible to electrical noise than totem-pole output.
