TC-V prescale setting

Question

Question

How should I set the TC-V prescale setting when displaying the conveyor speed with a feed roller diameter of 50 mm?
Obtain a rotation signal from a 30 P/R encoder.
The speed is about 0.5 to 5 m/min, and up to one digit after the decimal point is displayed.

Answer

Answer

If the prescale setting is 1(factory setting), The discrete value will be 60 at an input frequency of 1Hz.
Calculate and set the prescale value according to the device specifications.

Prescale value when the rotation signal is 1 P/R
– Feed roller circumference: 0.05m x 3.1416 = 0.15708m
– Prescale setting: SCL.1 = 15708 SCL.2 = -5

Since the encoder is 30P/R, multiply by 0.03333 (<--1/30). 0.15708 x 0.03333 = 0.0052355...
Multiply this by 10 to display up to 1 decimal place.
0.0052355 x 10 = 0.052355

The final prescale setting is
– Prescale setting: SCL.1 = 52355 SCL.2 = -6

In the “Decimal point setting”, press “2” to set the 0.0 display.
