Question

Question

PLC is used for equipment that has been turned off for about a week.
I turned on the power for operation, but it does not run.
The mode selector switch is in the TERM position.
Is the operation mode not remembered?

Answer

Some models of our PLCs store the operation mode when the power is turned off, but uses a backup battery to retain the memory.
If you are not using batteries, you can back up for up to 1 hour with a large-capacity capacitor.
After that, the operation mode will be STOP.
If you want to make sure that the RUN state is established after turning on the power without using the backup battery, perform one of the following operations.
1. Set the position of the mode selector switch to RUN.
2. Set bit12 of the special register R7633 to ON and perform the operation to switch from RUN / TEST-RUN mode to STOP mode.
*Applicable models: D0-05/06, D2-263, SJ-ETHER
