Speed control with external analog signal

Question

Question

I would like to use a servo motor for speed control using external analog input.
How should I do the wiring and settings?

Answer

Answer

Please follow the steps below to configure and wire.

Procedure

Wiring

Wire to “42-VREF” as per User’s Manual “3.3.3 CN1 wiring diagrms”.
servo-33-1

Mode Setting

Set the operation mode to “0x02 S: Speed control mode” in KSD-Soft’s “Mode Settings”.

Setting the maximum moter speed

Two patterns can be set.
1. Set the maximum moter speed at 10V with parameter P1.040
2. Set the maximum moter speed at 10V with parameter P1.081
Which setting (1) or (2) is enabled depends on “0x0F Maximum analog Speed command switch” assigned to the DI signal.
If this signal is not assigned to DI, the signal is OFF, so (1) is enabled.
(If you do not need to change the maximum moter speed, set it to P1.040)

When external analog input is 0 to 5V

If you want the maximum moter speed at 5V to be 1000rpm, set P1.040 to 2000, which is twice that.

If you want to change the rotation direction

Method 1:
If the external analog signal voltage is positive, it will rotate forward; if it is negative, it will rotate reversely.
Method 2:
Assign “0x06 Reverse direction of input command” to a vacant DI and control the DI.

When you want to stop the motor near 0V
